Your games, actually yours

Onboarding now asks one optional question — your first name — so every quick game counts toward your stats from day one, and older or watch-scored matches can be claimed with a tap. A weekly play goal (days played, not days won) puts a ring on the stats page and the widget. After a day of games, History offers a shareable session recap card. Saved matches became editable (date, venue, notes), and tagging skill levels now keeps social-doubles courts competitive without ever repeating partners.

Every match tells its story

Saved matches now replay point by point: a score timeline with every serve turnover marked and your longest run counted. A new Home Screen widget keeps your win rate, record, and streak in sight, matches show up in iPhone search, and games start from Siri, Control Center, or the watch’s Action button. The social-doubles mixer got a real algorithm — partners never repeat while a fresh pairing exists, and byes stay perfectly even. And your entire history, every rally included, now backs up to a single file you can restore anywhere, free.

The website learned to keep score

The homepage now runs the app’s actual scoring engine as a live demo: tap who won the rally and watch the call, the server, and the court diagram update. The round robin generator gained shareable links and printable schedules, plus ready-made pages for every group size from 5 to 16 players.

The side-out rule, to the letter

A deep audit caught a subtle rotation bug: after a side out at an odd score, the first serve belongs to the player standing in the right court — the partner, not the game-starting server. The engine, the coaching lines, the court diagram, and the guides now model the rulebook exactly, with regression tests pinning it.

A hundred small things

Two full codebase audits and two fix passes: crash-resume that survives a force-quit on the results screen, watch-to-phone sync that dedupes and corrects itself, a Live Activity that behaves, round-timer horns that fire with the phone locked, VoiceOver score announcements, landscape layouts, and translations for everything we’d missed across all seven languages.

The court came alive

An animation pass across the app: player dots now glide to their new positions on every rally so you can see the rotation happen, side-outs get a callout, game point gets confetti, and the tutorial spotlight glides between its targets. All of it respects Reduce Motion.

Apple Watch, wrist-first

The watch app was redesigned around the only two questions that matter at arm’s length: what’s the score, and who serves from where. Big tap zones, Digital Crown undo, Double Tap support, a workout session that keeps the screen awake through the game, and complications that start or resume a game from the watch face.

Seven languages from day one

Dillball and this site now speak English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, and Korean — with whole-sentence translations everywhere, because serve calls don’t survive word-by-word translation.
